Preparation

Stripseal Flooring PreparationPreparation for floor sanding and finishing

If building, renovating or decorating, schedule the start date in relation to other trade processes. This is essential. Carpentry, electrical, plastering, plumbing and glazing needs to be completed before work is commenced. Any silicone based products which comes into contact with the floor before the finish is completed will cause rejection. These deposits are often brought in by various trades people on their footwear. Ensure that normal electrical and lighting supplies are accessible at the premises for the floor sanders. Without these our tradesmen are unable to operate. All floor coverings, furniture, fixtures and fittings from the floor to at least head height should be removed as well as tacks and staples where possible. However, the more empty the premises the better. All painting except for the final coat on the skirting boards should be completed. However careful the tradesman may be, there may be a need to "touch up"  the paint work afterwards in the event of minor "scuffing" marks although this is extremely rare.
